It's a moment of great joy for us here at Edkids Home as we've finally achieved a milestone of over 1,000 email subscribers! It has been an incredible journey, and we're thrilled to see how far we've come. As we celebrate this achievement, we want to take a moment to reflect on our journey so far and share our experiences with you.
My Background
I immigrated to this country when I was just seven years old, all the way from Hong Kong! While I'm not incredibly advanced, I can read, write, and speak in Cantonese Chinese.
We spoke Cantonese at home throughout my entire childhood, and I have to say, one of the big reasons we were able to preserve our language and culture is all thanks to TVB. Every night, our family ritual was to gather together and watch TVB dramas, which really helped me develop a deep love for Hong Kong culture and language. It's amazing how something as simple as watching TV shows can have such a positive impact!
My mom usually cooks Chinese food, which has made us very familiar with Chinese cuisine and traditions. We even celebrate Chinese holidays like the Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year! However, I really hope that one day we'll be able to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong itself. It would be amazing to experience the vibrant atmosphere of a country immersed in Chinese culture!

My Business Partner
As I currently have a full-time job in the corporate world, I'm fortunate to have my best friend and business partner, Joyce, by my side.
We've been hustling since high school, selling jewelry and clothes. Now, we're building Edkids Home! We make a great team, with our unique strengths and weaknesses that balance each other out.
Joyce is a tremendous help, especially with editing. I am truly grateful for her support on this journey, as I couldn't have done it without her. Working closely with someone I trust makes all the difference.
The Beginning
When we embarked on our blogging journey over a year ago, it felt like a daunting task. Just like many new bloggers, we started from scratch, learning how to create captivating content, promote it on social media, and attract readers.

It was definitely a slow ride, but we were determined not to give up. Week after week, we diligently published new blog posts, and little by little, our audience began to grow.
We've been immersing ourselves in podcasts, online classes, and YouTube videos, eager to learn and grow continously. I won't lie, it was overwhelming at first, and I even had a moment of breakdown.
But then, I started questioning myself: why did I start this journey in the first place, and what really matters to me? Well, my top priorities have always been my health, my family, and my overall well-being. Nothing beats the joy of spending quality time with my kids and creating precious memories together.
So, after some soul-searching, I've managed to find a balance between work and life. It's a gradual process, and my husband's best advice was to pace myself. And you know what? It's working!
Our Journey
Besides creating posts, we've been actively taking courses to enhance our website, marketing strategies, and more. The learning never stops, and it's amazing how Edkids Home can truly transform us! There's always something new to discover and improve upon.
As a parent, I constantly discover flaws in my parenting. Blogging at Edkids Home not only encourages me to identify areas for improvement but also allows me to share my experiences with fellow parents. It's an amazing journey of growth and learning that I absolutely adore!
Making Chinese printables really makes me validate each Chinese character whether or not the strokes are correct. And whether the translations are correct and I would discuss it with my partner Joyce.
The best part is I get to present these with my children and we both are learning together at the same time.

Now that we have achieved our milestone of over 1000 email subscribers, We are excited to focus on growing our blog even more!
We're actually super excited about all the things we want to work on! However, we know it's important to pace ourselves and focus on one big thing at a time.
