I just retired and doing a part time job where I am in the car a lot. I didn't have a good place to put the trash and was constantly cleaning out my car. I got this because I liked that it had snaps on the side that would hold a bag in place. The bag arrived and it was easy to put in my car. I put the strap around the top of the middle console to set in the back. It hangs off of the console. I was able to easily tighten the strap for it to hold in place. I just used a plastic grocery bag and it works great. It was easy to push the snap into place with the bag between it. It is very accessible to me and the passenger.

I wanted something of a more square shape for my car. I dropped one star because although the bottom is square and solid, the sides are not and they collapse in. It's new so perhaps with a few items get discarded in it, the sides will stay out.
There's plenty of strap so it reaches to go around the stationary cups in the cup holders in front of my middle console.
I do put a plastic bag inside just to keep it clean and make it easy to dispose of the contents.

I have had this product for about 3 years, it still looks like new. Very sturdy, easy to clean. The only down side to this is the fact that placing a trash bag inside it tends to slide down, doesn't hold it up very well as it can only fit on three sides, the back side you cant slide the bag down so it wants to slide forward. Overall, I would recommend to buy it if only for the fact it will stand up to time.

The materials are adequate and are a combination of materials. The description says leather, the small print says vegan leather, a form of plastic I think. Only the front and back panels are this material, not the sides or the bottom. Some side panel bracing would hold it open, as it flops closed. The strap holds it in place when looped around the gear shift. It works fine for my purpose and is certainly not expensive.

I really like this trash can for my car. I used to have one that had a lid but that actually caused more problems in the long run. I really like that this one is open and easy to use. It is really easy to clean. It does take up a little of the leg room but honestly not much. Plus this could also be hung behind the head rest as well which would give you all the leg room you want.
